This showed up here about a week ago and normally i don't spend to much time listening to this studio rehearsal sessions but the liner notes on this one peaked my curiosity.

It says its an Audience recording and the anonymous taper only says this about the recording:
"Superb sound quality straight from my reel to reel masters &
rare session."

So who would have access to record this and/or get masters of an "aud" recorded at Ace's studios?

As for the recording, it is very good quality sound, however the rehearsal is not the most compelling. Lots of TMNS and Stronger Than Dirt, but no Jerry to speak of. Doesn't sound like he is present. It does say that Crosby is sitting in for a tune. The Mind Left Body Thing is kind of interesting as well.

Dude, everyone knows this is Koch's source. He taped this one when he was 4.

The Archive filed it as an aud? HA! Not so. A straight studio recording.

Aside from Garcia, this session is also apparently missing Keith as well - the file notes that "John Cipollina, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Ned Lagin, David Crosby & Bill Kreutzmann" play. Crosby is sitting in on far more than just a tune; but Cipollina is barely present (if it's him).

Another copy was already here:

This is the same session as the older copy, same music - tracked & ordered a bit differently, and the labeling's almost as bad as the other copy.
It does, however, have some new material at the start - a unique jam (track 2) that may be just about the only appearance of Cipollina here, if it's actually him. (He resurfaces in track 31, I think, but does hardly anything.) The rest of the session seems to be more or less the same stuff as before, though a slight upgrade & it may have some extra minutes here & there.

I wondered the same. It does not sound like and Aud. to me. I figured it was just a gift.

What's the riff they're playing in the last two tracks (of the new version)? It sounds similar to Playin' but is in 11 rather than 10.

It's Low Down Payment again, done at a slower pace. Compare to tracks 14-15.
